How long have you been reading romance?
I started reading romance in 2005 after a friend gave me a book to read. I’m a recovering alcoholic and reading helps keep me sober.

Do you remember your gateway romance book? The one that drew you in and got you addicted to the genre?
Nora Roberts- The Winning Hand. This book just makes me laugh and feel good about romance.

What was your last 5-star read?
Leah McDonnell – Love On Leave

If you could spend a day in any romance novel, which one would it be?
Oh I would love to go to Holiday, Texas. When I read your All AMERICAN COWBOY, that book brought my love for contemporary romance, back to me.

Have you ever traveled to meet an author? If so, where did you go and who did you meet?
Yes I went to Las Vegas and met Linda Broday, Rosanne Bittner, EE Burke, and Jacqui Nelson. Amarillo to meet Linda Broday (again), Jodi Thomas, and Phyliss Miranda.

Describe your favorite kind of romance hero.
A sexy cowboy who has a tender heart, but is a strong character who knows what he wants and isn’t afraid to go after it. A true protector.

Where’s your favorite place to read?
In my living room. 

What’s one thing you want romance authors to know?
That I owe my life to all of you, you all help me daily with my sobriety within pages of your books.

If you could meet any romance author, who would it be?
Well of course you, Ms Dylann. Two fellow Texan’s we could get into trouble… plus I’ll be your designated driver with the getaway car!

What would your ideal romance novel be about?
A lady who is recovering from breast cancer and leases a remote cabin in the woods. A neighboring rancher sees smoke from her chimney and goes to check it out. He is so curious about her need for isolation…. let the romance begin.

If you could see any romance novel make it to the big screen, which one would it be? Who would play the leads?
Come Sundown by Nora Roberts Emma Watson and Cole Hauser.

Do you prefer reading paperback or e-books?
I love both, ebooks let me take a book wherever I want. But who doesn’t love a true paperback. So I’ll go with PB.

How many books do you typically read a year?
Around 150 books.

What’s your most prized book-related possession?
My stock photos Linda Broday gave me of her Bachelor of Battle Creek Series. 

What are your other passions besides reading?
I love antiques. I have a huge collections of graniteware and 30-40 era depression salt and pepper shakers.

Do you have any pets?
Yes, my sweet Casino, she’s a Chihuahua, Pekingese, Heinz 57 mix I rescued 8 years ago. 

Tonya Lucas is a Texas born native who resides in Southwest Kansas due to her job. She raised pigs for 20 years and for the last 6 years has worked as a State Livestock Waste Inspector. Feedyards, Dairies, and swine facilities keep her busy. 

When she’s not at work she enjoys spending time with her amazing husband and their sweet Casino. She brakes for yard sales and antique shops to find the next forever treasure. She lives to hit the casinos…Jackpot!!
