I spent the weekend in Galena, Illinois. It was Ladies’ Weekend and I got to take part in the Romantic Galena Reads event. This is the second time I’ve been here, and I love this little town. There’s so much to do and tons of history here. It’s the perfect destination for a girlfriend getaway or a romantic weekend.
And… it’s haunted. We took a walking ghost tour and got to hear a lot of stories about paranormal activity in town. If you get the chance to visit, I highly recommend it. The next Romantic Galena Reads is September 7, 2024! You can get more info here.
Macarons… where have you been my whole life? I got to try the most amazing macarons from Bread and Vine this weekend. They were delicate and light, but so yummy. If you haven’t ever tried these tasty little treats, do it! But make sure you get them from a place with a reputation for making the kind that will melt in your mouth. Plus, they’re gluten-free!
I’m a full season into Only Murders in the Building, and I’ve really been enjoying it. I’ve always loved Steve Martin and Martin Short together, so this one was a no-brainer for me. Selena Gomez holds her own in this murder mystery, comedic dramedy. It’s exclusive to Hulu and you can watch the trailer here.

I just finished binge watching the latest season of Virgin River.and finished reading “How to Fake A Fiancé” by Mallory Black. Just started reading “Who’s Your Daddy?” by Lauren Rowe and BETA reading for an author. So busy, busy. As for socializing? Still recuperating from my operation but am now using a cane instead of a walker, so that’s progress. Am going out to dinners with the hubs to get back into the social scene again.
