Favorite Things – Fall Edition

Just like the seasons change throughout the year, so do my interests. I thought it might be fun to chat about the things I’m into right now in hopes you’ll let me know what you’ve been enjoying too. Maybe we can both find some new faves.

TV Shows

I recently finished binge watching Lucifer. 😈 It took me a little while to get into it but once I did, I really enjoyed it. Basically the devil decides to take a vacation from running hell and moves to Los Angeles. This isn’t one you want to watch with the kiddos. You can find it on Netflix: https://www.netflix.com/title/80057918 .

Now I’ve been sucked into Longmire. 🤠 I’m really enjoying it. The scenery is fabulous and the show is doing a fantastic job of drawing me in and making me want to know everything I can about all of the characters’ backstories. Based on the mystery/crime novels of Craig Johnson, the show follows a Wyoming sheriff and his staff as they solve crimes. Did I mention Lou Diamond Phillips plays the sheriff’s best bud? I’m on season three now and am already worried about finding something half as good when I get to the end. It’s on Netflix as well: https://www.netflix.com/title/70269479 .

Snacks

I can’t let Halloween season go by without snagging a bag of mellowcreme pumpkins. Candy corn just won’t cut it and the Autumn Mix doesn’t have the right pumpkin to other candy ratio so I just go for the good stuff.

And since I have to have some spice in my life, I’ve been loving these wasabi almonds. Side benefit of being someone who loves the HOT stuff, no one else in my family will touch them so I don’t have to worry about my hubby (I have to hide chocolate from him) or one of my kids getting into them. They’re mine, ALL MINE!

Books

With Halloween around the corner I’m in the mood for some paranormal. I’ve got my eye on starting this series from one of my buds, Aidy Award. I’ve never read a dragon shifter romance before but I’ve been wanting to dive in and now seems like a good time! You can read more about Chase Me on Amazon.

I also just picked up the second book in Kari Cole’s Mated by Fate series. I really enjoyed the first one and since Touch the Sky involves a witch and a wolf shifter, it seems like the perfect read for this time of year. You can read more about Kari’s books on her website.

Beverages

I’ll admit it, I’m a pumpkin spice fan and can’t wait for my first sip of a pumpkin spice latte every fall. But I’m also open to new fall flavors and came across this new coffee creamer last time I was at the store.

I’m also a fan of apples, especially the fresh-picked tart varieties they have around here this time of year. Haralsons are my favorite – they’ve got that crisp tartness I love. But I also embrace apple flavorings in my grown-up beverages and have been having fun crafting some Mommy beverages out of this caramel apple vodka. If you’d like to try one of the recipes I made up for Romance Happy Hour, you can check it out here. And if, like me, you’re always up for a creative cocktail, check out my Mommy Juice board on Pinterest.

I could keep going, but I think I’ll stop right there. What are some of your faves for Fall? I’m also looking for new obsessions so please share!

Dylann, I had no idea we had so much in common (besides our wit). I have loved Lucifer from the very beginning and to be able to see the last season without waiting I specifically signed up to Netflix for that very reason. As you probably already know I am a huge Aidy Award fan. She introduced me to my first ever PNR, she said take a chance, and I have never turned back. She has such a sense of style and humor and of course sexy times in her book. One thing I am glad we don’t have in common, and that is snow…it has not hit my corner of the woods in Canada yet, and I am in no hurry for it….Snowmen be damned!!!! Linda ox
