Finding Gratefulness… in three little things

I’ve been sooooooooooooooo busy lately! And I’m the kind of gal who goes all in. Whether it’s writing a book in a month or deciding it’s time to repaint the whole house in a weekend… I tend to operate at full-speed ahead.

Sometimes (okay, most times) that means I let everything else slide while I focus on getting that one task done. Which means things can get a little off balance. Like maybe everyone eats cereal for dinner because I’m wrapping up edits. Or maybe we can’t eat at the kitchen table for a day or two because I’m organizing all the cabinets. Whatever it is, it’s so easy to get wrapped up in busy-ness and all of the day-to-day crud.

So… I’ve been trying to be more mindful of the little things.

One way I’ve been going this is by sharing a Three Little Things post in my reader group on Sundays where everyone can comment with three things they’re grateful for over the past week. It’s a good reminder for me to notice the little stuff each and every day.

Such as… being grateful for vanilla coffee creamer. I really don’t know how I’d get through a day without it.

Or… taking time to notice the lilies that line the front walk that just bloomed.

Maybe it’s noticing one of the kids actually replaced the roll of toilet paper.

When I know I’m going to have to be accountable on Sunday and share something in the Crushin’ It Crew, I tend to pay more attention all week long.

And that tends to make every day just a little bit better.

Want to share your three things? Just leave a comment or better yet, join us in the Crushin’ It Crew and make it a habit. 🙂
